KC, Bh3 was played for the immediate threat of Nxe4
awsome!
spelt awesome wrong
Awesome sac! I actually spotted g4 aswell!
what a game jeez
Fantastic.
as usual, good work reviewing the game.
keep up the good work
Apologies all – I completely “missed the threat” at 27:12 – Bh3 has the concrete idea of Nxe4 and Bxe6. I presumed it had a different idea behind it. An annotation note has been added about this Many thanks to gabadiel for highlighting this. Please also reference James Plaskett’s detailed annotation link in the description of the video for other insights on this game.
wow, briliiant. Always love a great queen sacrafice.
What a beast, great video KC, thank you!
Amazing game, leaving the queen enprise showed spectacular vision and g4 was deeply in brass balls territory.
One of the more brilliant brilliant games. I wonder if any other player would dare to sacrifice the queen this way. Seeing that it gives some compensation is quite easy. Actually playing it is really scary.
You like Queen sacs? Check out KC’s coverage of the classic Nezmehtdinov vs Chernikov game. Nez sacs his queen in the opening!
it’s a fantastic game but I’m surprised how Miles could have defended his cramped opening position. his knights seemed to be blocking all his pieces and the a8 rook never came into play. so its interesting because kc pointed out the danger of the Ba3-Qd6 battery for white.
Yes good point – I might try and add that as a visual annotation. Thanks.
alfkjdslkfjalskjfa!!!!!!!!!!!
i love your videos. i wish my professors were as interesting/good at teaching as you are!
“and a3 is mating! but is it the best move?”
one thing to learn from this game is
you can’t start defending once you sac the queen
